Mask Requirements: At this time, we do not require a mask unless the teacher requests the student to mask up. If you are vaccinated, you are not required to wear a mask in the store. However, if a customer or parent requests that the staff or teacher wears a mask, we will comply. Thank you for your understanding and keeping our kids safe until vaccines are widespread to all ages.

Meet Seth
Seth Affoumado brings a lifetime of musical experiences to his teaching.
Beginning with piano and drums at age 5, Seth learned a great deal from his Dad, Ralph V. Affoumado, a classical arranger and conductor. Guitar followed naturally.
Seth’s music teaching experiences began at The BlueBear School of Music in San Francisco
where he organized and wrote the prototype “School of Rock” type class he now teaches at BandWorks. After BluebBear he moved to Berkeley’s Freight and Salvage Saturday Music Program and introduced, “Intro To Roots Rock”. Within a short time, BandWorks quickly hired Seth to teach in their San Rafael location where he’s managed and run the studio for the past 11 years.
Seth’s musical influences are varied. from Jazz to Rock, Country to Blues, he is a sponge
for all types of music! Major influences on guitar are Jimi Hendrix, Jack White, Dan Auerbach,
Buddy Guy, T Bone Walker, George Harrison, Jeff Beck and others. Major band influences, The Beatles, The Pretty Things, The Zombies, Wilco, The Raconteurs, The Small Faces, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and others.
Seth in a multi-instrumentalist and has performed with many bands playing all genres of music.
He’s shared the stage with Eddie Vedder and The Amazons, Rich Hoeg and The Back Porch Band, Matt Jaffe, The Hot Rods Band and The Montara Mountain Boys.
Seth plays drums in his current band project with Patrick Winningham and Chris Barnett featuring all original music.
